This was the cake that inspired the experimentation with natural food colors
I had an old coworker contact me about making a cake for her daughter’s first birthday. There was a flower theme to match the birthday girl’s dress, and mom wanted natural food colors. I did buttercream icing with fondant flowers; to match the flowers on her dress, I actually took a picture of her dress, then used that to make stencil cut outs. The other embellishments were modeled after designs on the invitation.
